What is high potential and gifted education?
High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.
We do this through:
- effective teaching strategies like enrichment, extension and acceleration
- tailored support during lessons that stretch, challenge and inspire
- access to a wide range of opportunities both within and beyond our school.

Our students engage with HPGE education in the classroom, in our school, and across NSW.
Our classroom practices support and extend high potential and gifted students.
- Everyday practice: HPGE is integrated into daily lessons, with teachers identifying and meeting student needs in the classroom.
- Teaching Strategies: Teachers use evidence informed practices to challenge and extend students through enrichment, extension and acceleration pathways.
- Supportive environment: The school provides flexible, supportive classroom environments that encourage creativity, collaboration and risk-taking.
Our school offers a range of whole-school programs that support student growth.
- Extracurriculars: Students can participate in activities including STEM, Ukulele, Sport
- Leadership: Opportunities for leadership are provided through our Peer Support Program and student leadership in year 6.
Our students participate in a wide range of programs to extend their potential.
- Our students participate in a wide range of statewide programs to extend and enrich student potential, including The Premiers Reading Challenge and the Premier's Sport Challenge.
- Statewide and NSW Department Of Education support is available for HPGE students and we help entries prepare and reflect so every experience feeds back into learning.
